We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our dynamic team, responsible for developing and maintaining our freelancing platform, which consists of several web applications. You can specialize in either backend or frontend development while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the entire stack to make informed technical and product decisions. Key responsibilities include designing, coding, and optimizing features while ensuring performance and security standards are met. Ideally, you have a strong portfolio showcasing a full-stack application or a key feature that demonstrates your expertise and decision-making across the stack.

Join us as a Software Engineer – Fullstack (all genders) at our Hamburg location:

In your role, you will design, develop, and implement new features or improve existing end-to-end solutions.
You will ensure that backend systems are performant, secure, and reliable, using Python, FastAPI, Postgres, and RabbitMQ/Redis.
You will also ensure that the frontend is highly responsive, intuitive, and visually appealing, using React, Tanstack Query, Zustand, Tailwind, and TypeScript.
You will develop systems with real-time, event-driven, and asynchronous architecture.
In collaboration with the product team, designers, and other developers, you will create innovative and cohesive solutions.
You will regularly review and optimize code to ensure it meets performance, security, and scalability standards.
You will handle troubleshooting, debugging, and updating existing software.
You will document software functionalities and processes to ensure knowledge sharing within the team.

What we expect

A relevant degree, e.g., a Bachelor’s in (Business) Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Several years of practical experience in web development.
Proficiency in the entire software development lifecycle, including various (agile) development methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, deployments, testing, and operations.
Analytical thinking, creativity, and teamwork skills; you can guide and develop other developers through your independent, reliable, quality-oriented, and efficient work style.
A strong sense of good UX/UI.
Language skills: Excellent command of English is required.
